​In addition to the team of Elders we also have a team of Deacons. The word “Deacon” in the New Testament literally means to “wait on tables.” Deacons provide a ministry of service and compassion. In the book of Acts for example the church in Jerusalem elected a team of deacons to make sure the widows of the congregation were all taken care of. And so our deacons provide a similar ministry of visiting members at home or in the hospital, providing meals for those who are sick or mourning, and provide financial help when needed.
