elders

After Jesus’ death and resurrection the Apostle Paul and others planted churches in cities and towns all over the Roman Empire (the book of Acts tells this story) and Paul’s habit was to establish a team of elders in each of the local churches. The elders would provide teaching, counseling, prayer, and leadership for the congregation. We believe this is the best model for organizing a church and so we have a team of elders elected by the church family to lead. The primary responsibility of the elders is to help the congregation remain faithful to Jesus and to nurture the faith and life of the church family.
